KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is an anti-inflammatory tripeptide derived from alpha-MSH. What makes it remarkable is a self-targeting mechanism — inflamed gut tissue upregulates PEPT1 transporters, and KPV is preferentially absorbed through those same transporters. More inflammation = more PEPT1 = more KPV uptake exactly where it's needed. It was removed from the FDA Category 2 prohibited list as of May 2026.
